Thanks Matt for your lovely words. Been sitting tonight looking at this wonderful site of Cool Lab and been listening to Les and Tony Jones tonight - We were so blessed to have known Tony and all his brilliant compositions. Tony invited Les to this site and I often meet up with his wife Helen. I have also been indulgent in lisenting to the songs or I shoud say speeky songs Les had me do under Popty Ping. We had such fun. Have you taken a look at the video. Les put up called Heaven Can Wait in tribute to Tony. This site was special to Les. Hope it doesn't drop of the radar. Keep on making music  rock Dilly/Annie/Popty Ping

Fantastic song Alex Redwood! Such a great tribute to the 9/11 victims. You have some really good paintings also.
I remember driving home from work that day and seeing all the headlights on the vehicles and US flags on mailboxes.

Tim this sounds really cool. Smooth bluegrass feel with a nice slidey dobro, mando-chuggin' rhythm & twangy banjo.
I like your vox on this. Have you ever found someone to sing the Hi-way song with you?

Yesiree' that has a great feel and the mix is terrific Paul. Your guitar sounds good with the 12 string sim.
What did you use for that deep, rounded kick drum?... it has great definition.

Hi folks,
Way back in August 2015 Tommy had a brilliant idea to record alternate versions of Apache, a tune originally by The Shadows.
First up was a bluegrass version……  http://www.cool-lab.org/index.php?topic=7269.0
Next a swing version……… http://www.cool-lab.org/index.php?topic=7270.0
……and lastly an acoustic slow version……….  http://www.cool-lab.org/index.php?topic=7272.0

My favourite alternate version was by far the last one and I thought that one day I would give it a go.

So here at last is my attempt at replicating Tommy’s brilliant arrangement.
My Chordpulse/Mixcraft backing track…..
3 MIM Fender Strat tracks played through my Zoom G3Xn armed with a simulated 12 string acoustic patch.

I hope you enjoy……….and thanks Tommy.

I log into this site most days, but have long since forgotten to check out OTD.
So glad, Alex, that you have done just that and what a find in this great tune from our very own Tommy........a great listen and so worthy of this bump.
Note to self........check out OTD more often.......content changes every day and almost seems like old members are re-posting.
