Play all my songs

« on: October 14, 2013, 04:54:06 PM »

Hello! I was recommended this forum by my mother who met tazzy in the old west days in Valentine, NE. I play Lester Flatt's (Hence the username) rhythm guitar and some Earl Scruggs' lead guitar styles.

A very warm welcome to you from a few miles South of London in the UK.
You're gonna enjoy yourself at the C-Lab....it's a brilliant place to hang out.
I like the look of your musical CV too........
I first discovered LF & ES on The Bonnie and Clyde movie back in the 60's.
Loved the theme.....Foggy Mountain Breakdown I believe it was called....
I'm so looking forward to hearing your music. drinks

Hey! I'm  in Western South Dakota! It looks like London with all this rain.

You should look into Scruggs' guitar style. It is very intriguing, yet very simple at the same time. I look forward to introducing everybody to traditional bluegrass music.

Howdy Lester...Pine here from the rolling hills of northern appalachia (western new york state) great to see a bluegrass player added to our members. There aren't many of us here that can play it but all seem to enjoy it.
Membership here is very respectful and open minded. I've heard some bad news about your area of late...3' of snow and thousands of cattle dead...is that near you? I'm an old "back to the land hippie"...been on my homestead now for almost 40 years. Retired mental health counselor and big fan of bluegrass..hope you are into home recording...that's what this place is all about. If you need any help in that area, you will find it in abundence here.
Welcome aboard!

Yes, indeed! We had 20" of snow and ranchers lost many cattle in the area. I guess you could say I am in the same line of homesteading. I will sure try my hardest to bring some recording, even though I lack a good mic. All I have is a guitar and vocals. :D

Just to let you know, I won't be able to post any music for a couple days because I'm a little sick at the moment. My voice isn't the best..

You might mention to us how you record!  I know you mentioned audacity!!  I am sure some one here could give some advice.  I am sure there would be some collaboraters willing also.  Have you ever thought of getting a recorder?  Right now you can get used Micro Br's quite cheap on e-bay.  It would be a start for you anyway.  Just some thoughts!!
